Flower Caddy (can be hung on hooks, or knobs)


Supplies:
2 (pieces of fabric at least 6 ½” square)
1 (6 ½” square of heavy weight batting, fusible on both sides)
scissors
rotary cutter and mat (optional)
ruler
hot glue gun and glue
10” ribbon for hanger
15” ribbon for bow (multiple ribbons, optional)
artificial flowers and wire cutter or fresh flowers with small vial for water
28” bias tape (fusible or sew on) or serger/sewing machine with overcast stitch
rickrack, lace, eyelet (optional)
buttons (optional)
scented oil (optional)

1. Cut 2 (6 ½”) squares of fabric.
2. Cut 1 (6 ½”) square of double sided fusible batting (heavy weight).
3. Fuse on fabric to each side of the batting, following manufacture’s instructions.
4. Find edge with bias tape (fusible or sew on) or serge to finish edge on all 4 sides of square. Rickrack, lace or eyelet may also be used.
5. Lay to form diamond and fold bottom corner up to about half way.
6. Fold side corners to overlap bottom corner and form envelope shape. Adjust overlap to pleasing proportion.
7. Secure 3 corners to each other with hot glue.
8. Attach ribbons tied in a bow to front using hot glue. Add buttons, if desired, also gluing in place.
9. Make a loop with ribbon (about 10” long or desired length). Attach hanger ribbon to back of fourth corner using hot glue.
10. Fill caddy with small flowers (fresh or artificial), cut to fit. Glue artificial flowers in place, if desired. Sides may also be glued to back, if envelope falls forward when hung.
11. Add other trim or scented oil, as desired.
